Collaboration drawing

  I have been partnered up to draw a collaborated art with Mariana and come up with a concept we both work on. The student and I have discussed and discovered that both of us have watched the animation series Demon Slayer and have decided to create a joint collaborate shoe design, which certainly has been a key interest for me as I wanted to draw my own pair. With this, I have taken the opportunity to use a picture I took not long ago and used this as my base.

 I will be using the app Ibispaint and set the opacity low and start outlining the left show which I will be only drawing.

 Once the outline is done I can remove the picture and start colouring, first I set the base colour grey so it is easier to paint.

 Next I start applying the base colour. I will use the haori pattern of the main character of Demon Slayer, Tanjiro’s chequered pattern on the front and colour the rest will purple as it will contrast the pattern nicely.

 I then move on to add effects on the base colour to give it a shiny look, and also add yellow textured lines on the side of the shoe to further contrast the purple.

 Finally with the base colour of the shoe done, I then move on add the water effects on the front part of the shoe to indicate the theme of the shoe. And then to finish off, the bottom part of the shoe and the highlights such as the lace, the interior are also coloured.

 This is the first part of the collaboration done, the next part is my partnered student to draw the other shoe to complete the pair.

 Unfortunately with some technical issues there was no direct communication with Mariana and so therefore we were not able to discuss about the shoe designs directly. However, we did end up completing the design of the shoes with the Mariana's and mine displayed together.
