Further development on the website
With the research on the websites that I looked at, I can now further progress into my website's construction. Previously I looked at all the necesarry elements with animated websites and found that animation as a element is a key stand point of this particular website.
After I selected my desired template, I was given a default front page. Only three pages were presented, Home, About and Contact. Below the navigation bar, a default gallery was displayed to show examplary work.
The first thing I needed to do was to remove gallery and insert my small animation in a form of a GIF format. The second thing was to readjust the font for the title, add another page called 'Portfolio', rename 'About' to 'About me' and 'Contact' to 'Contact box'. Having a particular style of setting each name would give a good theme around the website. And lastly I renamed the title of the website to 'Subbi's Animation'. I also changed the font to give a different style to the website.
After this, I then proceeded to add a description below the GIF animation as an introduction to the website. Here it was important to describe the objectives and reasoning around the website, emphasizing particularly about the progression route and what I will be displaying on the Portfolio page.
Lastly, with the description added, on the footer of the page I added my copyright text and below that I added a small social media icon to indicate where else my activity is. For this I added my Blog's link and the logo as I am displaying all of the development for this module.
The Contact page was also readjusted, the template's default text boxes were good in my opinion and required little changes to the theme I was going for. But however I did change the size as it is easier for the user to type and understand what each text box is requiring.
The changes that were made was the colour of the text boxes. I found the initial colour to be too light and therefore it blended with the background too easily. Having to add a darker shade of grey made it much more easily distinguishable. The logo of the paper plane is a good initiative and I decided to leave that as is.

It is looking good and developing however I am concerned that in week nine you have just 12 posts - you need to do quite a bit of work here as you clearly have things missing form class and self study and you need to get on with your project work and post this
ReplyDeleteGreat! Good use and adaptation of that template. Simple and plain, makes the viewer focus more on your work! Keep up the good work!
