Ideas generation: The Martians have landed
Here are some rough sketches of the few characters for the theme. All three characters have their own distinct personality and styles and I will make them intereact in the small animation clip as well.
The second character will play adjacent to the main character. Although not evil, here attempt at being one will allow me to create a more humrous theme on the animation clip.
And the third character is the first side character, this particular character will not a major role but will show its presence with the environment to set off the theme of the clip.
The fourth character which I want to keep as an animal is a dog, I have never properly understood the animation or the basic structure of animating animals so I believe having to start with a basic dog character would be a good propisition,
The final character is another complimentary one, this will help progress the story as more intereactions can take place. I have a concept of the story in mind so I would to furhter expand on it on my next post.
Your initial character designs are good and you have a distinct style. I especially like the dog. Think about the tones of purple you will use and the backgrounds, try making some colour samples as testers to see what works and what doesn't. A good start.
