Sequence Image for animation

For the sequence images, I searched the internet to get an idea of what and how sequence images are done. And with that I will then show my attempt of doing a sequence images.

Sequence images is a great way to show how a subject or an object is shown at any point or position. For animation it a useful reference tool to understand how the dynamics of a particular scene should work be it a still background or a slow moving subject in frame. Sequence images is more a less a timeline of a piece of small animation, albeit done in photography. This also shows the lighting and texture if references are needed on how the object will deform in a specific way.

Fall Clones, Tim Wray, 2007

In this image, 3 people are jumping into the lake and the shot was taken from a fairly large distance. That is to ensure everyone is within the frame. What I find fascinating is that despite the complexity of having multiple subjects doing the same action, everything is done is quick succession. The gap from the first shot to the second increases as people are falling faster into the water.

This gave me the inspiration to do something that is relatively simple but also features a quick action, that is to pop a water baloon.

In this sequence, I have noticed and logged about how the baloon immediately deforms the moment it is poked. This is something I need to keep in mind for something relatively simple since my animation would require quick, rapid actions that feature simple deformation like a rock crumbling. This will help me understand how objects that I will incorporate in my animation will be drawn and keeping the background consistent and detailed.

  1. Okay you have looked at something and created your practice shots - you need a source link under the research image - you needed research for this image which you should have referenced at the bottom of the page and you need to add technical details about your own sequence i.e which phone/camera did your use , which settings and how did you put this together

  2. Liked the final resut.
Would love to see some more process shots and planing but still, good work.
